I finished the puzzle that Ryan and I started when he was here. It was challenging, but fun. It is one of M.C. Escher’s drawings. I had never seen this one before. Take a close look at it and you’ll see some interesting stuff.
I’m glad that Lynx loves Jordan.
Lynx likes to hang out with Jordan.
Our new kitten Lynx and Midnight.
Basketball starts on Monday and I have mixed feelings. I only have 3 returning varsity players and only one of those was a starter. There are only 3 returning JV players as well, one of which will for sure be on JV again. I have 3 new girls that will be varsity and that’s about it. So I for sure have 5 varsity quality players. I have 3 I wouldn’t mind bringing up but wish there were stronger players and after that my only choices are some freshman, 2 7th graders, and some 10th graders who have never played before. Thank goodness it’s an international school and that many other schools are also facing issues due to the economic crisis. This season might be painful, definitely will be a building year, and with this few players the pressure will be much less. Last year was amazing. I am truly grateful to have had the experience of winning SISAC and ACAMIS. Beating Concordia in the tournament they’ve never lost was great. This year will be different and thanks to the circumstances I will be forced to cut myself some slack. Here we go again, year 2. GO DRAGONS!
Ryan and Jordan exercising in the Hutong’s. Chinese exercise equipment is interesting. I am always impressed though by its availability. You can get a work out in just about anywhere around the city if you look hard enough.
Music in the Park:
These men were playing music together in the park. The man in the middle was keeping the tempo.
This was at the entrance to the Hutong we visited. These were a sign of rank in the military I believe.
This is my boat picture. Ryan’s is cool and the version that Kevin made of Ryan’s is great. I just want to be part of the cool boat picture club.
